Forums - Sales - proof that nintendo is stock piling wiis?

Well I don't think MS and Sony are stockpiling, honestly. They're meeting demand with their shipments...and they're on top of production, so there's no need to stockpile. There's a lot of 360s lying around, and plenty of PS3s can be out by Christmas...so they can easily outsell the Wii unless Nintendo stockpiles.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Sony says they are stockpiling PS3's for the holidays already. Why isn't anyone riding their ass about that?

The second question is the fierce inventory at the end of June? Our (inaudible) season is the November to December timeframe, but those two months are quantitatively so huge, so therefore, we have to pile up inventory, starting from the early stages, like the May-June period, because we have some capacity issues. So it is a monthly supply business. Years we have bigger number compared to the current sales volume. But we don’t think it is too risky inventory at this moment.

Because the PS3 is extremely easy to find.

What some people are saying is that Nintendo should forget about good business practices in order to increase supply a bit right now. They're saying Nintendo should forget about getting fantastic publicity during and after Christmas, which they will get.

I bet you these same people would gripe about why Nintendo didn't stockpile for the holidays if there was a holiday shortage.

Haha, true! Either that or they'd say "Why didn't they increase production for Christmas?"...

EDIT - But a holiday shortage is not impossible even with stockpiling, so we might still see some of those.

Thanks. My exact point. Every company stockpiles for Xmas. I assumed this was common knowledge since it's been in practice since the insdustry began.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Yeah...I guess I just figured they wouldn't need to. But they can, because they're not short on units right now anyway.

Silly man, if Nintendo wasn't stockpiling, the demand would not exist and they wouldn't be selling any consoles because no one actually wants a Wii, they just think they do because they're hard to get. That's why I still believe the Wii will end up only having 5 million sold by the end of its lifetime because Nintendo will stop manufacturing consoles and then start stealing people's Wiis to keep demand up. C'mon, it's genius!

To cash in my CC rewards points for $300 in Circuit City gift cards to purchase a 360 or not: That is the question.

Nintendo is probably stockpiling. I do not think they are but that does not change thee odds. I really only posted to mention Dementium for DS. Where the hell did this game come from? It looks mighty beast if you ask me.

They are stockpiling, every electronics company does it.

It is good publicity and more profits (people buy more things generally during X-mas) and shareholders will clap their hairy hands together when Big N announces yet another increase in to-be-sold consoles amount during this fiscal year.

Nothing's cheaper than something free.

F1 vs FOTA, when too much power is in couple peoples hands.
