Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of CELL and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that.


They complained earlier about the DVD storage limitation and a lack of a default harddrive for caching on the XBox 360 with regard to developing GTA IV. I'm looking forward to see them developing a game towards their full developing potential.



Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."

It seems Sony is reacting ,first Epic ,then Quantic Dreams ,Bioware is also programming something in the PS3 ,now Rockstar ....

They are securing the future seening as they lost quite a few exclusives they are now slowly getting them back(not the same ones obviously).

Wow, what great news.  I've heard that Rockstar was pushing to make a hard drive required for GTA but microsoft wouldn't let them.  We'll see what happens with that.  DLC makes it require a hard drive anyway, so Core users already won't be able to take advantage of anything the 360 version of GTA has over the PS3 version.

Anyway, can't wait to find out what these games are.

For someone who asked:  Table Tennis is by all reports a great game and should be decent on the Wii.  The graphics probably won't be as good because the graphics on the 360 version I've heard were really good.

Has rockstar made a bad game yet?

To Break EVEN they will have to charge 50 bucks to 1 million people. OR 25 bucks to 2 million people. OR 10 bucks to 5 million people. Thats just to break even. Thats just for DLable content doesn't include cost for Marketing and server maintance. Although S.M. could be covered under xBox Live.

GTA probably fits in the strategy for Microsoft to remove exclusives from it's old competitioner. GTA will sell some extra XBox'es but in the long run i think SOny made a good choise of making another exclusive. I felt that the whole GTA thing is wearing off, i played it since the first 2D version but they are still repeating themselves over and over again. In popular term one could say that it's just a collection of minigames.

Frankly, GTA is wearing off as the CASUALS who made it are going to the wii

The other thing is GTA IV is completely different from GTA SA, you can't just go around killing people n stealing cars anymore, its much more complex

This is so funny.  All of these 3rd parties, esspecially rockstar, must be laughing their asses off all the way to the bank while sony and microsoft keep paying them for exclusive content/games.  This industry is so backwards.


Sony doesnt pay for exclusives(that they didnt make), they earn it.
