GTA probably fits in the strategy for Microsoft to remove exclusives from it's old competitioner. GTA will sell some extra XBox'es but in the long run i think SOny made a good choise of making another exclusive. I felt that the whole GTA thing is wearing off, i played it since the first 2D version but they are still repeating themselves over and over again. In popular term one could say that it's just a collection of minigames.
