Forums - Microsoft - The Xbox 360 Arcade

Now I know this version doesn't come with a hard drive but it comes with a memory card, right? How big is the card and is it enough for game saves at least or at some point, would you need another card even if you're using it mostly just for game saves? And if I did want to get maybe just one or two games from their download service, is the memory card enough or do you need a hard drive? One last question comes to mind, I'm not a big internet gamer so I don't neccessarily need or want to buy the service to play online but Do I need it to enter their online store to buy games or other downloadables?

Sorry if my questions come off as stupid. I've been a longtime Nintendo fan and Wii owner but am thinking heavily about buying an HD console and want to lean the Xbox 360 way. I just want to know for sure if the Arcade model would fit my gaming needs or would I need to look at the Pro model.

I'll come up with something better eventually...

I would recommend getting the 20GB hard drive even if you won't use much of it, simply because it's cheap to get now. A memory card will hold your games save ok but depending on the acrade games you download...you might run into trouble..

You can have the free silver membership to go to their online store for downloadables, and to buy games...

Hope you enjoy your 360 when you get it..

The memory card is 256 Mb and has room for your game saves and profile.

The card could store 1 or 2 download games as well (Depending on the game as some of the arcade games are getting much bigger).

The cons with the arcade are limited storage, no headset, no network cable (but has network plug), no HD video cable, and you cannot play any original Xbox games on it.

If you can find a 20 Gb that is a better deal.

I think the Arcade model is a underrated by many. Unless you plan to download lots of maps and XBL games, the HD is not a big deal. If it becomes a problem you can always upgrade later. I'd rather get an Arcade and 2 games of my choice than a pro + 20 bucks.

Buy an arcade, do the mail in offer for the refurb 20 gig hd. Actually a pretty good deal

A cunning plan.. Can you still get the refurb on new units?? Or is it limited to existing owners?
