Well every FF related thread does anyway. I guess I should just give up...
Did anyone miss Uematsu in FFXII?
And also, do any of you know why FF characters make aperances in every square game ever, but no CT character ever does? That's bullshit if you ask me! Some CT love in Kingdom Hearts would've been great!

Uematsu is a great composer, one of the best in the industry, but so is Sakimoto, so it wasn't much of a loss. Sadly, the soundtrack, while great, still doesn't compare to Sakimoto's best  (FF Tactics). Though not many do

Are you kidding? When I think of any FF that I played that he ever did the music for, I remember at least one track that takes me back to the game. I remember one track from XII and that is Clash on The Big Bridge, which is originaly from FFV. Music just didn't stand out for me. But I guess that is matter of opinion...

PS.: I didn't know that he did FFT. That was some epic music, right there...

He also did Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre, which were even better, for my money.

I liked FFXII's soundtrack, though. I listen to it all the time.

I used to just turn the game on to listen to their entrance themes.

I never said that XII's soundtrack was on par with Uematsu's best (which for me are VI, VII and VIII). It isn't, but not because Sakimoto's much worse than Uematsu, but because it wasn't Sakimoto's best. I consider FFT's soundtrack better than any soundtrack ever composed by Uematsu (in fact, better than any soundtrack EVER except for Suikoden II, which are tied), so I know Sakimoto can be as great as Nobuo (he may need Iwata at his side, though).

Well, sure! That theme is not composed by him.

He is referring to Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre, Johann.

Not a fan of IX's music? j/k

Now that we started talking about soundtracks you got me all worked up! VG music just makes me horny!

I have never played any Suikoden, but since you seem to think that the soundtrack is superior to Uematsu stuff, I might just pick up a few of those... any suggestions?

Actually, now that you say it, I think that the Battle theme and Boss battle theme in IX are (with V's Battle theme) the best Uematsu has composed. I can't say I remember much of the rest of the soundtrack though.

About the Suikoden soundtrack, do you mean individual themes? Check the link in my sig (the Suikoden round), and download the Mp3 there is, those are 10 songs (cut to 30 seconds each, though) I picked from the series. I'll think some more for you

They are delectable. The envy of every Final Fantasy. My avatar comes from one such game, Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber, easily the best RPG on the N64 (arguably the best from that generation).
