I've just noticed that no company other than Nintendo has ever had a 10 million selling game on a single console in a single region.

Does anyone think any game can do it for a developer this generation?

IN a single region... no. But maybe in all regions. And I'm assuming this means single versions and not multiple platforms.

I think we might see a couple more 10+ Million selling games on a single platform this generation, but the only game I think is a "shoe-in" is Wii Sports: Resort (which is developed by Nintendo) ...

It is very difficult to achieve sales of this level because (between rentals, piracy and used game sales) you need an amazingly high percentage of users to buy a game to get to that level ... Most games that achieved sales of this level were bundled, although there are a few that have passed 10 Million without needing the help of a bundle.

Halo 3 is the most likely candidate for a game on one console only (excluding PC).

He is asking in one region. Imo not a chance.

 If it received any reasonable period of bundling it could certainly happen. The game will likely continue to sell in reasonable quantities for the remainder of this generation.

^Oh, then it's impossible if it's just one region. Even games on the Wii (other than Wii Sports and Play) would find it impossible.

I can't really see too many non-nintendo candidates reaching 10 million in all regions.
