You need to have played those, thats all Im asking, a comparison between the 3 games and gears 2, because my friend is saying its the best visuals he has ever seen in a game even beyond that of crysis, and killzone 2 as well. So I dont know what to believe, I have seen the game myself for around 5 mins, but I cant give a good judgment on that.

I just need a true comparison between those that own all 4 games.

 

 There are parts in GEOW 2 that look very great and  that really blow the graphics away from MGS4 and Uncharted can't tell about R2 though/

I re-played Gears 1 earlier this week to get me in the mood for Gears 2. Damn, Gears 1 still had the power to make me say "wow"! I jumped into Gears 2 on my HDTV, and I was a little let down. The Graphics near the end of Gears 1 were better than the graphics at the beginning of Gears 2.......

But like Selnor said, once the words "Gears of War 2" pop up on screen, prepare to be blown away! I had my TV set too bright, but once I adjusted the in game settings, it was really one amazing moment after another. Still not fond of disappearing dead bodies though.........

@ Leo-J, I own Uncharted and MGS4 also (but not Resistance 2 yet) and I play in 720p. Gears 2 has them beat. You can find unpolished textures and such if you look for them (as in any game, I imagine) but on the whole Gears 2 is the best looking game I have ever played.

Gears 2 does look better then Uncharted (which is a game I love, one of my favorites from last year) and Resistance 2. Can't say on MGS as I was never a fan of the series.

Thanks, reask! I wound up taking it apart, being overwhelmed, putting it back together, and jamming a clotheshanger at anything in the disc drive that looked moveable. Fixed the problem right up! My warranty is shit now, and if I ever get the RRoD again, I'm probably screwed. Still, playing GEoW2 on day one made it all worthwhile!

I agree, but it is not my choice whether or not I get one. Anyway, I have played Uncharted in HD and it is absolutely incredible

 

 So your comparing Uncharted in HD to Gears 2 sdtv. Thats hardly fair. Me and my mate put Gears 2 on SDtv first ( just the intro) and then played through in HD. It's almost like looking at 2 different games.

Given that I barely played any of uncharted in HD, that is not what I am comparing. I have played Uncharted and Gears and few weeks ago and GeoW 2 today, and I still maintain that on my crappy TV, uncharted looks the best. gears also has an annoying habit of being slightly darker just after a quit the pause screen, though that could be the crappy tv

Fear was the game I was playing when I switched over to HD.

 

I was having the same problems very dark but when I switched over the difference was nothing short of amazing.

I would say to me that Gears 2 looks better than Resistance 2.  I mean it looks good and better than a lot of games but I don't think it competes with the others.  I can't give an opinion compared to Uncharted because it's been so long since I played it and it wasn't for very long.  I bought the game but TBH I didn't really enjoy it very much (don't hate me lol) so I ended up trading it back in.  The beginning of the game looked nice but it's been so long since I checked it out I don't feel qualified to judge.  I have MGS4 but I still haven't played more than the very start of the game.  I still haven't finished MGS3 so I want to do that before getting into the 4th.

I'll also add a disclaimer and say I don't own Resistance 2 atm.  I played the beta which I know wasn't a final product but my friend bought the game and watched him play single player for a few hours at his house and played some multiplayer together as well.  His TV is nicer than mine 52" Samsung 120hz LCD compared to my 42" Sharp AQUOS.

I also don't think you're going to get an honest opinion anyway.  Sony fans will say both games (and sometimes all 3 which makes me lol) are better and Xbox fans will say that Gears 2 is the best.  Just play them all and judge for yourself.  All the games are going to look very good and depending on who you ask you'll get a different opinion anyway. It's going to be so close that it's really going to come down to opinion.

Ive played/own MGS4(completed), Uncharted(completed) and Gears 2(on act 4)

I play on HDTV 40inch 1080p. All great graphics :P not gonna say which is better

Multi-console ownage is next gen gaming!

But seriously Killszone 2 from what i see in screenshots, looks to be the best out of all 3 in terms of graphics. thats if the final game looks as good/better than the latest screenshots.
