It's made by Valve. Valve have never made a bad game.
They're like a modern Rare.

PLEASE tell me this is a timed exclusive. Ah well, even if they say it's not, look at Bioshock.

*prays*

Don't think they ever said it wouldn't come to PS3.  Valve just said they won't do the port themselves.  I'm sure if sales are good which I assume they will be that somebody will pick up porting duties.  I would wager EA which did the Orange Box.

I don't know how your PC is but if you're jonesing right away Source games aren't the most taxing in the world.  L4D is a little more beefy than say HL2 but playing it respectably shouldn't be a problem.  I play TF2 & Portal on a laptop with an 8400M at medium settings very comfortably.

I'm not a fan of PC gaming anyway. I prefer sitting on a comfortable chair with a sixaxis in hand to being hunched over a keyboard (while gaming).

And I'm not so sure Valve won't do it themselves. Don't forget, they saw he crapness that was the PS3 version on The Orange Box. I don't think they want one of their games decimated like that again.

Also, the most reliable site in the world, Wikipedia, says:

"Valve co-founder Gabe Newell commented, "I think the people who have The Orange Box on the PS3 are going to be happy with their game experience. We’ve done the PC and 360 versions here and EA has a team doing the PS3 version – and they’ll make the PS3 version a good product; EA got the job done in putting a lot of people with PS3 experience on the project. But I think it’s harder to get it to the same standard as the 360 and PC versions". Despite this, he noted that Valve will probably handle PlayStation 3 versions of its products in the future. "

And it's quoted from the co-founder. Hopefully, they've learnt from BioShock that waiting 14 months and adding a new difficulty mode and some upgraded textures aren't enough to secure decent sales, so they should do it within a few months of the 360/PC release.

Too many games getting 9+ these days. Reviewers are losing it IMO.

Not sure what the problem is. Just because a new game is released to critical acclaim does NOT mean one is immediately obligated to buy it.

There's a limit to how many games a person can practically play unless they're just sampling the games on the surface to get an impression. Renting would work just as well, not that I'm a big advocate of this (I buy what I like to see more of).

So... buy what you want to play immediately, and wait for the other games when they go on sale, or when you're ready to play. Buy new and it still counts as a sale for the publisher/developer, even when discounted.

Plus, realize once the year's over, there's going to be another drought of AAA titles shortly after. Not a bad time to pick up the titles you didn't get over the holidays.

I currently have Resistance 2, Gears 2, L4D and CoD5 in hand or on order and there's no way I can play all those FPS games fully at once. I'm still having fun running around Crysis Warhead. I have less than three hours on Resistance and I haven't even opened Gears 2 yet. I'd like to play Dead Space and Mirror's Edge, but... WTF; that's too many games to play at once.

Too many good games? Boo hoo. Buy them later when you have the time to play them. You'll probably get them on sale by waiting. The only thing you miss out on is the hype.
