While the GameCube is my most populated console (over all), I'd have to say the Super Nintendo is hands-down the greatest hardware Nintendo ever made. For reasons to numerous to mention.

The Wii is the most technically faulty with it's occasional freezing-up and bizarre inability to open channels or read game disks at times.

The N64 was easily their worst overall console. There's no way it can be good when 90% of the worthwhile games all came from only two companies--either Nintendo or Rare. Muddy, blurry graphics, cartridges, worst Nintendo controller, lackluster games, lack of games, dependancy on an unused overly costly add-on, etc. About the one thing the N64 did right was reinventing controls to better accomodate a new 3-D gaming world. Also, the 4 controller ports as a standard was a nice touch. Other than that, pretty awful all-around.

I'll include handhelds anyway. You can't tell me what to do!

It's a battle between the N64 and the DS. The N64 had alot of the best games ever created, while the DS is a paradise of selection. Both consoles have also brought change and new genres to gaming.

THIS.  Also add in Earthbound the greatest game of all time and you have the Nintendo's best console SNES.  Though I do hope Wii can live up to the SNES by the end of the gen, I believe it's on par with N64 and already beat Gamecube, I mean with Wii I rediscovered the joy of going out and finding gems that are great but have low reviews, with the most recent being Spider-man web of shadows, amazing game just the right changes from the past Spidey games.  Then the innovation of the Wii has breathed life back into consoles that were having the same games all slapped together to look and play like each other last gen, now people are being creative again like in SNES/Gen and N64/PS1 days.

Snes for me.
This console has awesome games and the most robust console design ever. I'm pretty confident that in the future, 100 year old snes will run like a charm.
