level 5 will pull a square enix. Square Enix got sony to publish Final Fantasy 7

Level 5 got Sony to publish Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2 and Rogue Galaxy...so I don't see the point you're trying to make.

Also, Square only got Sony to publish FF7 in the US and Europe, as Square still published the game in Japan.

Sony also pays for the development and owns the IPs of every Level 5 game they publish.

Sony made Level 5 through their support of Dark Cloud 1/2.  Had it not been for those games, SE would've never signed them on for DQVIII.

I never Realized Sony published Final Fantasy VII, i just went to look at my "Greatst Hits" case of the game and i was in Shock and Awe... Does this Mean they really do own exclusive rights to VII or what?

Cause everything now that i think of it that has to do with Final Fantasy VII, Sony was always there exclusively, AKA Crisis Core/Dirge of Cerberus/Advent Children (Movie published by sony).

Well, this news makes me feel a HELL of alot better of a Final Fantasy VII Remake and/or Sequel coming exclusively to the PS3.

Sony need to aquire Level 5 Now.

NO, Professor Layton belongs on DS, and the other 2 need to be translated before Sony can have them.......

That being said, I dont believe this thread, Sony doesnt advertise games.

denials does wonders =D.

I think Sony should always start advertising their big games this early. Especially in Japan where things aren't going so good.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I predict that this game will reach at least 500k LTD in Japan. Is that good?

I strongly doubt that Sony owns exclusive rights to 7 (the franchise). Only squareenix and Sony knows, either way, Square owns the FF7 IP so it's up to them. It IS possible that Sony may have had a deal inplace for first dibs on the franchise, but i doubt they have any real authority.

I hope this turns out to be a very good RPG, I need one. If it is and it sells well, Final Fantasy and Square Enix will have a new competitor.
