Forums - Sales - help me, I can't still understand the reason why wii is selling so much

I agree. I'm 35, have had my Wii for 6 weeks or so, and I am ready to sell. I kinda hate it. I want to love it. I do.

But I don't. I really expected the motion control to be more exact than it is - it's so frustrating at times. And as I work my way through the catalog of top-rated games, I am disappointed over and over.

I want to sell it but my non-gamer partner won't let me. It IS fun to play with my friends who don't play otherwise - but we had fun playing Bomberman Live or Small Arms or any number of casual 360 games too. I don't think the Wii is THAT special when it comes to that.

I would TOTALLY buy one for my kids though, if I had some. I get THAT.



Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

i'm very enthusiastic of my ps3..I can play some good games (in this period mgs4, wipeout, fallout3, lbp) i can watch blu ray (on my 52" lcd it is spectacular) i can use internet in my sitting room, i can listen music and watch all my 5000 photos on a big screen.. Now i'm waiting killzone, resistance, Re5...and i think the future will be brighter..

but when i see my nephew playing with her wii, i still continue to not understand...maybe if I were 7 years old and I lived in the 80s, wii would be a fantastic console...unfortunately almost 30 years have passed.

so what's wrong with me?

 

Man, I love when people sign up just to rag on a console. Especially when they can't tell the difference between a boy and a girl.

We have Arabic, Japanese and other European users and they won't make that kind of mistake. Maybe they would but they won't insult the person correcting them.

Ive never been a fan of nintendo either, I only own a gameboy advance, and NES and SNES.. After that Sony just.. owned.
Ive grown up with all the sony consoles, And In MY opinion I think the Wii sells so much is because it's part of Nintendo, The game's are just, not that good at all.

i don't think wetcoaster was just correcting him. it was a catty remark trying to make him look stupid... which isn't cool.

It may have been a bit catty and for that I'm sorry. I've seen people ridiculed for far less, though.

This argument has been going on for a long time now and it's gotten pretty old. Someone needn't sign up just to say "ZOMG Wii is teh suxorz" and take their little stabs at it, which was completely the intention of The Mr Endiadi as his only posts are in this thread.

I think the "little stupid boy" comment was far more degrading than anything that I said, oh well.

So I guess you never cared to play Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, Battalion Wars 2, and the list goes on and on......  Also, there are a few decent 3rd party games and more to come.

The answer is very simple but you won't like it very much. The reason it sells so well is because it has better games out in the eyes of the general consumer. I know this seems like a heretical statement on an internet message board, but thats just the way it is. All those games you seem to love really do not target a broad demographic. The market never moved into "adult games" but moved into games targetted at the 13-35 year old male demographic. The Wii has simply focused on bringing people not inside that small group into the gaming world and thus is becoming extremely successful.

All the hardcore games that get such great reviews are pretty much unplayable by the majority of the population. If something is unplayable for someone, it's essentially worthless to that person. No amount of price cutting, graphic improvement or good reviews is going to change this.
