Nope, because they're "giving" it away. lol
Seriously, I have 4 remotes and didn't get wii play. Why? because $10 is not giving it away.

Why would you get rid of Wii Sports Wii Play? Every system has had 10 dollar games... and bundled games... and they all count. Aside frome which... NPD doesn't even track bundles because they can't.
Amusingly though the Wii does beat out the PS3 when the reverse should be true... and i think we know that's the real reason your in this thread crying about Wii play.
The console with the highest numbers should have the lowest tie ratio since they should have the most casual fans.

Galaki wins the thread! Well done! You've won a Free Game! (Although it'll cost you some money, but that doesn't count in this thread)
I have a feeling that 3rd Party tie ratio for Wii will rise to around 4.5 next year and developers will really have to weigh up a few things:
1: Userbase i.e. How many consoles of each have been sold?
2: Development costs i.e. Which console is cheaper and by how much?
3: Market Potential i.e. Looking at number of sales vs. development costs
So the Wii will begin to look very much like a more healthy option next year as it breaks the 50% market share.. Also just look at the Activision numbers for this year:
Wii: 13%
360: 11%
PS3: 9%
PS2: 9%
Now you can look at that a few ways..
HD consoles vs SD consoles .. 20% vs. 22%
Wii vs. 360 vs. PS3 .. 13% vs. 11% vs. 9%
OH BUT WAIT! Development costs!!!!
$Wii
Hmm.. I'm 100% sure that the Wii will still get the least support but 2009 will be a major step in the right direction for Wii owners and we should start seeing results.
Yes! Even from Ubisoft!
'The worldwide success of the Wii has caught third party developers by surprise, leading to some apologizing for the quality of their early games. In an interview with German news magazine Der Spiegel, Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot and Alain Corre admitted that they had made a mistake in rushing out their launch titles, promising to take future projects more seriously' - from wikipedia

This is ridiculous beyond belief. You don't even have to buy an extra Wii remote let alone having to buy Wii play (which itself cost more than the Wii remote). I'm guessing that all the people that bought Wii play told shop assistants that they wanted a Wii remote and they then got a gun put to their head and told that if they did not get Wii play the trigger would be pulled. How can you hate a console so much that it can cause you to spit out such crap? Did Nintendo kill your dog?

Should we also discount the hundreds of bundles the 360 and PS3 have had? I've seen both consoles bundled with 2 games plenty of times.

Bahaha....
Check it out tremble
Wii Sports at the time was the second most played game (per person) of those included in the Nintendo channel (those stats are for UK only by the way, but they are reflected pretty well over all of Europe, I haven't seen US numbers personally but I doubt they differ considerably)
As you can see, Wii Sports is played on average 35 hours and 36 minutes per user, second only to LoZ:TP (more recently it is at about 36 and a half hours, but Fire Emblem has now surpassed it sightly, and SSBB has passed it too.)

Hooray! Wiiware and virtual console games are being given away! WEEEEEEE

Or better said -> it has the best 1st party by far thus 3rd party are suffering a little.

I think the answer is simply that it has virtually only crap 3rd party games

Let's take another look at this.
PS3:
1st party - 0.9 x 16.5 million = 14.8 million
3rd party - 4.4 x 16.5 million = 72.6 million
Total - 5.3 x 16.5 million = 87.4 million
X360:
1st party - 1.4 x 22.3 million = 31.2 million
3rd party - 5.2 x 22.3 million = 115.9 million
Total - 6.6 x 22.3 = 147.1 million
Wii:
1st party - 2.4 x 35.5 million = 85.2 million
3rd party - 3.1 x 35.5 million = 110.1 million
Total - 5.5 x 35.5 million = 195.2 million
Publishers don't really care about the attach ratio, they care about the total volume of sales. Wii, having launched a year after X360, is only a few million units behind in 3rd party software. How's that for 3rd party software doesn't sell on Wii?
