Galaki wins the thread! Well done! You've won a Free Game! (Although it'll cost you some money, but that doesn't count in this thread)
I have a feeling that 3rd Party tie ratio for Wii will rise to around 4.5 next year and developers will really have to weigh up a few things:
1: Userbase i.e. How many consoles of each have been sold?
2: Development costs i.e. Which console is cheaper and by how much?
3: Market Potential i.e. Looking at number of sales vs. development costs
So the Wii will begin to look very much like a more healthy option next year as it breaks the 50% market share.. Also just look at the Activision numbers for this year:
Wii: 13%
360: 11%
PS3: 9%
PS2: 9%
Now you can look at that a few ways..
HD consoles vs SD consoles .. 20% vs. 22%
Wii vs. 360 vs. PS3 .. 13% vs. 11% vs. 9%
OH BUT WAIT! Development costs!!!!
$Wii
Hmm.. I'm 100% sure that the Wii will still get the least support but 2009 will be a major step in the right direction for Wii owners and we should start seeing results.
Yes! Even from Ubisoft!
'The worldwide success of the Wii has caught third party developers by surprise, leading to some apologizing for the quality of their early games. In an interview with German news magazine Der Spiegel, Ubisoft's Yves Guillemot and Alain Corre admitted that they had made a mistake in rushing out their launch titles, promising to take future projects more seriously' - from wikipedia
