Forums - Gaming - Games that get old,and games that don't.

IMO 8 bit games age fairly well if the gameplay is solid. Then again, the same can be said for most games. Nostalgia plays a fairly big role in aging as well. If you love a game, it might "look" as great as the day you bought it.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda - two games that will never get old.

I would add to the "games that never get old" list Civilization 2.

Age of Empires comes to mind for games that never get old.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Chrono Cross sucks?! C'mon that is just not true!
What exactly sucks in the game? Great battle system, awsome graphics, excellent music, character are a little shallow I'll admit, but the story, inspite being poorly told, it's still a good story...
I'm not saying that the game compares to the AWSOMENESS that is Chrono Trigger, but "the game sucked and always will"?

I'll admit my feelings about the game are clouded by the fact it's supposed to be a Chrono Trigger sequel. I found the story terribly boring, there's too many characters you end up not caring for any of them, the battle system was good but I was waiting for double techs and triple techs (also the last fight is so lame). The atmosphere of the game didn't click with me, it has none of the charm of CT.

I see a lot of people hate this game because it's the sequel of Trigger, so I'm guess I'm lucky for playing Cross before Trigger (in fact, I played Trigger because of Cross). So, with nothing to compare it to, I found the game to be absolutely amazing, a truly masterpiece, I loved the story, the huge cast of characters was a fantastic move in my opinion (because, well, I'm the biggest Suikoden fan afterall), and the battle system was so innovative that it blew me away. In fact, when I played Trigger after it, I didn't like it as much as Cross, it was an excellent game, no doubt, but for me Cross is better

I'm willing to let my CC sucks comment go but I'll never ever accept CC > CT. It's just madness!

Of course it`s gonna suck if you compare to Chrono Trigger! Everything else does!

The game's story is not so much bad as it is poorly told. The characters are awful and I absolutely hate the fact that the Masamune turned bad for absolutely no reason at all, but there are things that make it work, like the awsome Mitsuda soundtrack...

I agree with the first part mostly, but CC>CT !? I've lost all my respect for you! The only way to get it back is this: You have to say that you're a false prophet and CC is a superstition or else I'll have to kill you with a bowling pin
