It happens in germany, the "game" is in fact a compilation of 30 games. What do you think, will this be followed by (many) others?

And here is the original text:
Eh oui, le premier jeu PC à tirer parti du fameux format Blu-ray est bel et bien sur le point de débarquer, en Allemagne tout du moins. En fait de jeu, il s'agit plutôt d'une compilation de 30 softs plus ou moins connus et plus ou moins bons... La bête se nomme 30 in 1 Collection et débarquera outre-Rhin ce mois-ci. Et comme nous sommes des gens sympathiques, nous reproduisons ici la liste des jeux qui figureront sur ce Blu-ray.
I don't think this'll become a new trend for at least another 3 years.
Blu-ray drivers aren't exactly selling like hotcakes in the PC market, and seeing as how people have been installing games using multiple CD/DVD's for so long, I don't think convenience will be a big selling point.
I think the storage combined with the powerful PCs we can make will allow for some amazing games. As for it becoming a trend, not for while yet I would think, I don't know anyone who has an inbuilt Bluray drivers for their PC, their still a bit expensive. When they become more common though, it will be good to see what results we can get for future PC games.

It doesn't matter really. DVDs are dirt cheap, it doesnt matter if your game is on one or 20 DVDs. BluRay will have absolutely no effect for PC games, just like the DVD had no effect for PC games over CDs.

I dunno about that. Six+ CD games where pretty rare. 6+ DVD games will likely also be rare.
In the end DVD allowed for bigger datasets being used for games cheaply. Cheaper than putting it on CD's anyway. Blu Ray might do the same in the end.

UT2004. PC developers are never worried about how big their games are. They can always put in another CD or DVD for less than a dollar more.
