If not it will definetly be a close call for Halo 3. The best part is that Blizzard didn't even have to spend 10 million on advertising it.

It probably will once you combine all the 1st day sales of every region maybe. Halo 3 was lucky in the fact that a huge majority of it's fanbase was all in the same place (U.S.) where as WoW is a much more worldwide phenomenon.

Also a huge number of WoW sales aren't store bought but online sales since most people pay to play with a credit card anyway so they just buy it online. We will probably never hear actual sales numbers.

Only in China it already will beat HALO 3 first day sales.

Well I asked around, and my Fry's got over 600 copies today, compared to 72 copies of Animal Crossing, and 20 (10 360 / 10 PS3) copies of Mirror's Edge.  So yeah, it is going to be huge.  Not sure how that compares to other big launches though.

I'm sure Blizzard can make an announcement based on how many people upgrade to a WotLK account.

They don't have it up for download. At least not ont he first day. Everything will be retailed.

So if trade chat on my server is any indication of the whole, then this will be whole. I'm also preparing to say good bye to my server for a few days because I feel like it's gonna crash.

Due to it being easier to download and spread PC games I don't know. Sure Halo 3 was leaked before its launch but the vast majority of 360 owners don't have or don't know how to mod a 360.
