I doubt that it will save time or money. There are other reasons for them to do so, but its not to save money or time.

Even is PS3 becomes the lead platform, the games look identical on 360.
However, when 360 is the lead, PS3 versions suffer.
Either way, its win/win for 360 owners.....not so much for PS3 users.

new consoles aren't coming out for many years my friend, I actually like the fact the PS3 hasn't reached full potential yet, it just means the future is brighter on the sony side.
