Any1 wana explain eitehr what I'm reading wrong or why the numbers are so far off? Like we are like 5 months undertracked in sales...

There is always a gap between sold to retailers and sold to consumer. This gap can be in the millions of units. GTAIV sold over 11 million to retail, while at the same time the sold to consumer number was 8.5 million.

This is the 3rd time this type of thread was created about MGS4 sales. Everyone keeps reading the same article from 4 month ago and posting it.....it's getting really old now

Metal Gear includes all games under the Metal Gear brand, so MGS 4 alone shipped less than 3.94M until June. Konami's Q2 report however says they shipped over 4M now, so it should have surpassed that number until September. Of course these are shipment numbers, not sellthrough. Most likely there are at least a few 100k copies on store shelves around the globe at the moment, which explains the difference between shipped and sold.

Konami said they sold 4.22 million copies of MGS4.
