SEGA announcement of Mega Drive ultimate collection for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

SEGA Europe Ltd and SEGA America, Inc. today announced the development of SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. This gathering will bring together the best games of SEGA of the era of 16-bit Mega Drive, also contain games of the 8-bit Master System and arcade titles in the 80s.

"SEGA Mega Drive title Ultimate Collection is a must for any fan of SEGA" said Gary Knight, Marketing Director of SEGA Europe. "Fans will have the opportunity to relive these classic games in high definition format."

Developed by Backbone Entertainment, SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection contains 40 of the most acclaimed classic SEGA in a single game, making it the largest collection ever published titles like SEGA first party. The games that are included: Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2 and 3, Columns, Alien Storm, Ecco the Dolphin, Space Harrier, and as a cult classic, Streets of Rage 1, 2 and 3. The games in the series have been reproduced with the utmost accuracy and great care in details in order to respect the originals. In addition, SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection shows the games in 720p with higher resolution graphics to adapt to HD televisions, offering a new visual richness to these classic titles.

SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 will be launched globally in early 2009.

Damn, I had better sell my origional PAL copy of streets of rage 3 on e-bay before more people find out about this.

Lately SOR 3 for Megadrive on e-bay in the uk has been raking in anything between £45-£60.

On topic.......... Yes yes and YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

all 3 sonics and all 3 streets of rages's on one shiny disc......... MAGIC

i hope they include sonic and knuckles though or the sonic collection will feel somewhat incomplete
