See the thread is about exclusive games and portal is not exclusive, its on pc also... you could say geometry wars isn't exclusive either its on cell phones. basically all XboTs do is try to inflate their AAA count using Arcade games and non exclusives.

Here, I've bolded and added comments to the parts you've missed:

So far the 360 has 18 AAA games (ranked 90+ on Metacritic) with the potential of four SIX more before end of year

- Left 4 Dead (not exclusive)
- Banjo: Nuts & Bolts
- Call of Duty: World at War (not exclusive)
- Mirror's Edge (not exclusive)
- Portal: Still Alive (89%)
- Prince of Persia (not exclusive)

Left 4 Dead (not exclusive)I believe has the best chance of getting a 90+ rating, Banjo might be a long shot, and Call of Duty (not exclusive) and Mirror's Edge (not exclusive) could both be potential low 90's or high 80's. It will be close but I believe the 360 can get that 20th AAA this year!

Edited - Prince of Persia (not exclusive) and Portal Still Alive added. Portal Still Alive hanging on a 89% with 19 reviews.

(Sony only has nine with a potential of 4 more this year - Resistance, Prince of Persia (not exclusive), Mirror's Edge (not exclusive)& Call of Duty (not exclusive))

NOTE- the word exclusive was mentioned nowhere in the original post...hmm...

You're right, this thread is about exclusives.

he's angry thats all.

@ matty, oh boy another speculation vid, not even gonna waste my time watching

@tw, they're not AAA games because they're ARCADE GAMES for the 10000th time, they're nowhere near the same level quality as the other games that have high scores, they have high scores based on the fact they're judged on DIFFERENT criteria than a real game... You people would be pissing yourselves if Fat princess was to have a higher meta score than Halo 3 and I would be the first to admit Halo 3 deserves a better score and recognition than a lame PSN or arcade game, they're not even in the same ballpark.

  1. Again, you've failed to point out how arcade games don't count.  You keep saying it, we get that, but you never come up with a *good* reason why.
  2. You've come up with criteria on how "real" games are judged and I've countered every one of your criteria.  I guess you missed those like you missed the exclusive thing, huh?
  3. Why would I care if a PSN game beat a 360 game?  I'd be thrilled to have access to another great game.

Just because a game has a bigger budget doesn't mean it's better.

Listen soon to be extinct species, If a psn game gets above a 90 then it's a AAA game. Portal was a retail game, now it's an arcade game, does that mean it's now not same quality as before. What about remakes, are you saying Duke Nukem is no longer a "full game". I already proved that arcade games can be a AAA game and there is no denying that. Arcade games are reviewed tougher than retail games, that's why there are only 2 arcade games that are AAA on the 360. BTW the video is a developer diary and it's pretty funny you should watch it

OK folks, from today Arcade games are not real games for PandaexpressPanda. For everybody else they will be as yesterday - real games.

... and buy the way ...
... Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is 88%, not 89%
... and Fable 2 is again 90%
... and Braid is ****** great game! Castle Crashers is ****** great game too! Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Geometry War ... the list goes on

and please arcade games don't count either

Why not?

Because then that would mean PSN games count for the PS3, and trust me you DO NOT wanna go there buddy. :P

because they have none some?

WipeOut HD and Super Star Dust HD, says HI!

Wipeout HD - 87

http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/wipeouthd?q=Wipeout HD

SuperStar Dust HD - 85

http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/superstardusthd

Close enough.

To be AAA they need to be 90+ so no not close enough. lol

Oh, im so sorry Sir, i didnt know 80's and 90's were SOOOO far apart, my mistake please forgive my insolence.

You are forgiven. An 89 game is no better than a 90 game, that would be stupid to say. But 90 IS the benchmark for AAA so dont be an idiot.

Lair had a HUGE budget, and it was amazing.

I wasn't going to say it.

you people are just dancing around the truth, an arcade game is not on the same page as a real game like halo or gears.

I have to get it on this.

Imagine an independent film, made on a low budget that is only an hour or so long. Now imagine a major studio film, made on a monster budget that is 2 hours long.

We'd better discount the independent film. There is a no way a shorter, cheaper film can be eligible for AAA status, no matter what the reviews say.

And yet, time and again I have seen films like these blow away there inflated budget, special effect ridden counterparts.

Arcade games count!

When you play a game on Arcade like Braid and it is better and more original than just about every game to come out in a couple of years, you get the point. Quality titles aren't about the size of the game. It's about the quality!!!
