You really dig your L4D!


I think L4D can turn out to be something spectacular but in terms of sales and Meta score I think its a done deal for Gears 2

I know what would be better than that. Having the rest of your friends being the zombies killing you.

Oh... wait....

Technically Gears 2 also has a mode where you can group up with 4/5 friends and fend off waves of enemies.  They just aren't zombies.  I, for one, as well as 3 of my Live buds are going to enjoy the hell out of both of them.

Gears 2 for campaign... Left 4 Dead for multiplayer...

Resistance 2 for Sony fanboys (Even though it is reviewing lower then Gears 2 by 5 points).

In fact, my buds and I can join in a party with the new NXE and go between L4D and Gears 2 with incredible ease.

I don't know which will be better, but I was absolutely AMAZED at what I saw this weekend: a Left 4 Dead billboard on the Illinois-Wisconsin border out in the middle of absolute nowhere. It was at a backroad intersection that didn't even have stop signs. How the hell did a Left 4 Dead billboard end up out there?????

Whats great for Xbox 360 owners is that they can choose for themselves which is better.

Edit: To be honest its a better shooter lineup than last year because each game performs a different role and all the games perform their roles extremely well. Its harder to feel that the games are competing with each other rather than gunning for their own specific niches.

Hmmm, well L4D and Gears 2 both have great developers.

Both games can be played co-op or with bots.

I'd have to give the nod to Gears 2 right now, just because it has proven itself in reviews and L4D has not.

CoD5 still has a chance to rival, and Dead Space was also excellent, but as a shooter, it's well below Gears 2.

Either way, the 360 is getting some hella-good shooters this holiday, as expected.

I'll say one thing.
Left 4 Dead is going to sell like crap, especially compared to Gears of War 2.

Sell like crap and Left 4 dead don't belong in the same paragraph.

Its got twice the Pre-orders of The Orange Box and its a Valve game... On Steam.
