i just played the demo, and the text is perfectly readable. i am playing on an hdtv, but i'm struggling to see how this would be hard to see on a sdtv. the font doesn't seem that small!

trust me it looks much worse on a sdtv, i tried lpaying wipeout hd on a sdtv and text was just unbearable.

Well, masturbation is bad for the eyes.  So I am not surprised that you had a hard time reading the text :)

But at least he's preventing cancer.

Also according to Ernest Borgnine it leads to a long life.

I didn't notice this on my brother's HDTV. I guess I'll just play this on his tv then, but this is an annoying problem.

You can solve your problems by investing 5 dollars for this! (I don't really know if it's 5 dollars...)

no...its not understandable. they shouldnt have been stupid in the first place and made sure the text would have been readable for everyone. how much sales are they going to lose now because people cant read it? how can it attract the casuals they want when they wont be able to read whats said? i hope all the reviewers give it a 0.

calm down, calm down....lol

as people have already said, theres plenty other games that have this problem, even when my bro plays LO, the text when they talk about his dreams are small and hard to read. Rare made a mistake yes...but lets not act like they the only ones that have done this....many more victims out there.....

Actually that makes it less excusable. The problem has been there for some time and should have served as an early warning to the company. I'm guessing Rare's had about 2 years to catch and fix this bug.

considering it being released in a budget title price and it's a game to attrach casual market.

a casual market with SD TVs it's a HUGE mistake.

Jo21 actually nailed the real issue here. This is a game being marketed to casuals and children (It's all over the packages of the new arcades), who are MUCH more likely to own an SDTV than an HDTV. They just fucked over the majority of their target base. Truly an awful mistake to make. Far worse than with a game like Dead Rising.

I dunno if casuals and children would ever realize there was a problem. I think it's more likely to become an issue amongst core gamers who only own SD TVs.

I also would be willing to bet there would be a megaton amount of crying doom and gloom type threads, and they wouldn't effect sales that much. I doubt the game was gonna be a barn burner either way, but like I said, I think this doesn't effect marketing very much, though I'm sure many wish that it would.

Casuals and children don't effect reviews, and knowing the internet, the issue is over-blown and won't effect reviews that much anyway(reviewers play on HD).

Like I said, the only way this actually hurts the game is by the large group of vocal SD gamers and PS3 fans who express either real or faux outrage over this misstep, in an attempt to marginalize the game and/or get equal treatment from developer as SD owners.

If this game truely is aimed at children and casuals(which I don't buy, I think it's a bridge title, and I think that if this was aimed at kids/casuals so was LBP), then it won't effect marketing to that audience at all. I doubt they would read the story anyway.

It's a harsh reality for those screwed by it.
