Easily Gears, I've never been big on Halo.

I dont see Gears series ever having the multiplayer carnige found in Halo.

Guns are not as cool or imaginitive (the needler for the win), level design keeps it simple since there is no jumping, vehicles are non existant...no grenades that fly 300 kilometers before they blow up...etc

However Halo 3 has some serious issues with storytelling and campaign just doesn't have the urgency found in other games. Halo 1 was the shit though in 2001...best FPS game that gen in my opinion.

agreed, although the halo 2 multiplayer was superior to halo 1 and is imo superior to the multiplayer found in halo 3

Never mind GOW2, I think the first Gear was better than Halo 3.

I hated Halo 3's short campaign and online matches that devolved into nothing more than shotgun/melee-fests. I'd take Gears of War over any Halo game, even the original Halo.

I prefer Halo 3 over Gears of War. First, being the story mode was awesome. I beat Halo 3 approximately 10 times. Including the difficulty levels, like Heroic and Legendary. The multiplayer aspect of it is awesome also. Being able to compete with the right skill level was nice feature for me. No game can come near Halo 3's matchmaking.

Other than people making duplicate accounts to make it seem like they are n00bs at the game but really they aren't they are the ones that get freaking 25 kills and 2 deaths. Now that is whack!!

Gears of War, story mode is nice and the use of co-op is nice also. I just wish it was 4-player co-op rather than 2 player. Halo 3 wins in the co-op department with 4 characters.

I haven't fully got into Gears of War online but, I did play a match and it wasn't a pleasant welcome. The skill matching was awful I was playing against people that already new the ins and outs of the game. And they were calling me a n00b and such. Not very welcome at all.

Halo 3 isn't any better, but it matches to the skill level I am at. And all around I prefer Halo 3.

Gears 2 is amasing. You`ll not regret your purchase,also the reviews say this. You liked Gears 1,so why not get Gears 2 ?

I don't know where to begin in arguing how wrong this is...so I just wont bother. While new players may fall in to melee/shotgun traps...people who play it more than a week or 2 should greatly reduce their close combat deaths.

Depending on the map, on most maps I don't even bother picking up the shotgun anymore...

The only problem I may have with Halo 3 multiplayer are the sticky whores...
