I prefer Halo 3 over Gears of War. First, being the story mode was awesome. I beat Halo 3 approximately 10 times. Including the difficulty levels, like Heroic and Legendary. The multiplayer aspect of it is awesome also. Being able to compete with the right skill level was nice feature for me. No game can come near Halo 3's matchmaking.
Other than people making duplicate accounts to make it seem like they are n00bs at the game but really they aren't they are the ones that get freaking 25 kills and 2 deaths. Now that is whack!!
Gears of War, story mode is nice and the use of co-op is nice also. I just wish it was 4-player co-op rather than 2 player. Halo 3 wins in the co-op department with 4 characters.
I haven't fully got into Gears of War online but, I did play a match and it wasn't a pleasant welcome. The skill matching was awful I was playing against people that already new the ins and outs of the game. And they were calling me a n00b and such. Not very welcome at all.
Halo 3 isn't any better, but it matches to the skill level I am at. And all around I prefer Halo 3.
