I got both systems and I'll buy gears on day 1, while resistance I'll probably just rent it as the first one was definitely not as good as what everyone was saying, felt just like a generic shooter to me with some very bald graphics, I think it would have run on a PS2, seriously. I hope the second game has a huge improvement over the first one.



My favorite games for this gen:

1. Gears of War    2. MGS4    3. Killzone 2   4. Halo 3(Underated by many)      5. Mass Effect

I stated for me the features that matter most for these games. And Everything said there was from IGN reviews. Gears2 just got more praise as best of by IGN and most reviewers. So thats how I based it.

First, those R2 bullet points are inflated and embelleshed, and about 1 of them deserves to be listed as a "pro" but I'll fix your list for you.

R2:

  • more massive boss battles
  • more enemies on screen
  • better weapons
  • better in-game level(acts) variety
  • more unlockables
  • online perks (beserks)
  • exp points system, gained from single, co-op and multi
  • home intergration (coming soon)
  • class based user charachters online
  • online co-op split screen
  • 8 player co-op on a seperate dedicated story
  • upto 60 player lag free online matches and team matches, including a free for all.

so for gears 2 what i feel the features is better over resistance 2

  • it might be funner than Resistance 2

 

You see how all those meaningless bullet points are just trying to compensate for other things?

Metacritic has Gears after 28 reviews at 95. And R2 scraping 90 after just 8 reviews.

It's harder to maintain a higher average with more reviews. (well thats logical and mathematically correct as you need to impress more people). I think looking at it it's possible for R2 may achieve less than 90 average. This should tell the story between the 2 really. But opinion is opinion.

I second this in a MASSIVE way. My thread with comparisons was for everyone else to watch the videos and post there own order. Instead you had fanboys insecure about there console purchase for 2 or 3 pages bashing me for my opinion. Did I bash anyone for doing there opinion there against mine?
