Selnor,

You are very cunning. I'll give you that. You make a thread voicing your biased opinion and try to cover it up in makeup claiming that both games are marginally close. If they are as marginally close as you say, then how is it that you can claim one to be better than the other? It would be harder to find your biasts views if you hadn't voiced your biasm so many times before. No one here is buying it. Your a fanboy and no one has any care for what you say considering this matter.

I'd like to remind everyone that Killzone 2 has been in development since 2005, while Gears 2 probably started in mid '07. So the fact that we can even compare them (even if KZ eventually wins out, which I think it does), speaks to the power of BOTh systems.

Also, I don't know if anyone read the OP without their fanboy goggles on, but he clearly said, "But they are so close that really there is no definitive answer."

Yes but Gears 2 benefits from all of Gears 1 development time (In my eyes aside from color addition the two look pretty much the same), so they are fairly equal in that sense.

Gears of War went into development back in 2004 didn't it? One could say Gears 2 has a combination of 4 years development time.

lol....you guys have excuses for everything....

gears 1 & 2 will both have been developed, promoted and released before killzone 2 even comes out...how can you compare two games (with other projects inbetween) to one game?

anyways am sure theres an excuse for that also...

I don't know enough about the development of the three games to give you an excuse for that... I apologize. But from the screenshots I have seen Gears 1 and 2 are extremely similar and have many of the same levels (with color added in 2). Which leads me to believe much of what was developed in Gears 1 was put into Gears 2 with some minor upgrades. You could almost call Gears 2 Gears 1.5, but let's not get into that.

But like I said, I do not know enough about the development of each title to draw you a clear picture.

See my previous post.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

i love the look of the both games.

but over all killzone 2 its overall better.

gears 2 focus on character models.

but the enviroment of killzone2, animations, explosions, smoke, particles. k2 is better.

well I also think its unfair people call it Gears 1.5, they set the bar high with the first one as it is to make THAT much of an improvement.....it reminds me of oddworld, the second game just had little improvements...but didnt need much as the first game was that great already....
I think killzone 2 did great with the physics and details, Gears I like the art style, and both have amazing graphics...

I'll give the lead to killzone, but ill be playin Gears...

In this thread I'm not saying I dont have a view. or previous posts that I have not said Gears 2 is better. I'm merely actually stating that really the top 5 games imo are actually really close. I have made a thread for actually looking closely in HD videos at my top 5 graphics games.

Alan Wake, if it ever comes out, will make pretty much every game look bad. So yeah, enjoy your victory while its lasts, Gears 2! Theres gonna be a new sheriff in town...

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Just really wanted to show and say to people that Some will think KZ2 is top dog and others like me feel Gears 2 edges it.

Crysis is the Top Dog. KZ2 and GeoW2 are "crappy" looking compared to Crysis, and Crysis makes mince meat out of them.
