Have they ever made RPGs before?
I know they made shooters before so not sure if they will make RPGs. I also got a feeling after reading the article they were maybe talking about a racing or fighting game.

Good news, and I don't care if The Conduit flops or if it is utter garbage (which is obviously not going to be) since they are putting a lot of effort into it, even developed their own engine specifically for the Wii, you gotta give them the credit.
SEGA actually wanting to publish this game, means the game is at least decent. So I'm looking forward to every single game they have planned, and mainly because it will piss off so many Wii haters like the ones posting crap in this thread xD
And maybe HVS didnt have the chance to produce a good game up till now, but if anyone had been following The Conduit's development so far and says that the game will be crap because some previous games HVS made were crap, then you are simply a ridiculous hater and an envious boy.

Bets with Conegamer:
Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
I wouldn't mind a Hunter: The Reckoning RPG that game was pretty fun with co-op.

...right. And thus, any new game that is hyped is going to be awesome, even if its developer has produced a long line of shovelware for years. That is pure logical genious.
I'll believe it when I play it -- I do have a Wii, you know. I'll choose not to play it if it rolls out and the reviewers state something along the lines of "Haze was epic, and profoundly creative, compared to this game". On the other hand, if its good, I'll buy it and enjoy it thoroughly.
I'm just not going to jump the gun, and hold this game up as a candle in the darkness of the empty Wii cavern-of-practically-no-interesting-3rd-party-games. I wouldn't lay such a burden on any title.

funny you mentioned haze, you said the developer has not made any good games but you got to start somewere right? i mean its not like developers with good history never made any stinkers like haze, lair and too human

As a general rule, the trend works in the Haze, Lair, Too Human direction, as opposed to the opposite, but you're right -- theres a chance it'll be decent, or even awesome.
I really dislike how its the only title ever held up as a "look at what the Wii can do" example... over, and over, and over... and it has yet to even be released. It smells funny. That's all I'm saying. Maybe its a new odor that I'm just not used to, but it seems awfully similar to how Haze, Lair, Too Human, etc. smelled before their release, now that you mention them. The developers ranted on about how great they were, the critics applauded every preview opportunity, and then WHAM. They landed.
I know what the smell is now... its the not-so-uncommon "Too good to be true" blossom.
Enjoy your Wii for what it is -- a great game console. Its not a technical marvel, and if the fanboys stop pretending that it is, they'll enjoy it all the more. Even if the conduit is a great game, technically (say it rivals MP3), HVS has a long track record of bad game *design*... and that's an awful lot harder to turn around than bad technology. If they're sinking money into a RPG... good for them, but... I'm not expecting alot.

those games never got a good preview though, everyone that has played conduit has only said good things, and you are just doing the opposite of the wii fanboys who are drooling over the conduit, which is not quite right since niether you or the wii fanboys have played the game, dont you think you should wait until you play it before you call it another wii shovelware?

If you'd been paying attention, the gaming media has been impressed with The Conduit in hands on previews. The reason the game is continuing to be hyped is because larger third parties have been churning crap on the Wii and this no name developer has churned a good looking and playing game. The hype for The Conduit is just as much about HVS embarrassing the supposed best developers in the industry as the game itself.

Their marketing folks are making sure of that. They're telling Wii owners everything we want to hear.
It's depressing to see so many people praising them when they haven't even released their much hyped FPS.
