Well that's gotta be a bit of a blow for Blu Ray, it'll be a long time before this starts to noticeably impact sales of legit Blu Ray movies or games, but it's the first step.

This is just for movies, and it's been possible to copy those for ages. PS3's security is far more complex, this won't work for games.

Games do not use that kind of copy protection. The data on them can be copied easily. Actually playing data that's not on a disc is much harder, and even then it can't be modified in any way.

Also, if humans programmed the DRM, then other humans (hackers) will break it.  It's only a matter of time.

I remember how people were praising BioShock endlessly for its DRM and how it wouldn't be hackable. And it genuinely worked, for a week and a half.

I don't think it will mean too much right now. It's very inconvenient dealing with 50 GB images for movies. Japan is the only place where BD-R media and BD-R drives are cheap.

But a 1.5~2Gb H264 encoded movie is manageable.

Slysoft owns again. I love them, I think.

Only BD+ protection has been broken, not any other.
