Hmm Mirson I'd love to see the video game you made and then compare.

That retort is so 2001.

It's not the opinion of the OP it's an article people...

Anyway MGS4 was a good game but it didn't even come close to MGS3 or the original in terms of quality in both gameplay and story.

I disagree.  The controls were better than previous MGS games and the story didn't leave any cliffhangers like the previous MGS games.  Previous MGS games had great gameplay and stories but MGS4 improved overall all of them.

I can see why someone would like MGS4 the best, since it really is a great game, but I found it a bit flawed.

The story was all over the place (which was good at times and bad at times), and I wasn't fond of the whole "Old Snake" thing. The boses had the worst backstories in the whole series, and the whole "big brother/nanomachine" etc. was a bit over the top. I will say, though, that portrayal of the ravages of age on Snake's body was well done, as was the ending, which was quite emotional.

The gameplay, though improved in many areas (controls like you mentioned), felt 'contained', and had a lack of flow, which is probably due to a) The chapter system and b) the fact that Snake is always in different locations. This made the game feel less interactive (by far) then the other games in the series. I will say that the boss fights were amazing though (epecially Crying Wolf, which reminded me a bit of the fight against The End).

Overall, these gripes make me rate this game below MGS and MGS3 (which I consider masterpieces), not to say that it was a bad game...it was just a fairly dissapointing end to the series, which came after IMO the pinnacle of the series in MGS3.

He didn't write the article.

Even if he did, are you trying to say that nobody should be allowed to critique the work of others? Because that's a bit ridiculous.

There couldn't have been a better ending for MGS4, as well as the story. Deal with that. Don't like it? No one cares. Stop being so god damn emo about a freaking game. You will realize that your opinion over a game doesn't matter to anyone else but you.

... Wow. Just... Wow.

Ok, come up with a better story and ending for MGS4.  Ready, set, go.

I loved the rap ups, if things were rapped up with some extreme answer I think it would have lead to more questions...

Really? Really? I'm not going to spend hours upon hours writing down an elaborate story that would've been better, I'd rather just point out everything I found faulty and ridiculous with it. Keep in mind though, that this is just what I've heard of the story, so feel free to point out if I have any facts wrong.

1. NANOMACHINES DID IT LOL. "Why doesn't Vamp die?" "OH IT'S THE NANOMACHINES" "Why doesn't cancer kill Naomi?" "OH THAT'S BECAUSE OF NANOMACHINES"

2. Big Boss got shot to death. Why the **** is he suddenly alive again? That was such a massive copout of epic proportions that I don't know what to say. Say what you will about the flakey story in MGS, but I can't really think of any time that someone died and then suddenly came back (Except Gray Fox, which was pretty well handled since he was a cyborg and, well, crazy, and the Liquid-controlling-Ocelot-thing got retconned in MGS4)

3. That the team I grew to love in MGS3 suddenly went all evil. Major Zero wasn't that big of a stretch, I suppose, I've heard he did some weird stuff in MGS: PO(Haven't played it yet, but planning to), but Para-Medic? Sigint? Oh, let's add to the fact that Sigint is apparently the DARPA Chief despite the fact that they look nothing alike besides both being black. Nicely done, Kojima.

MGS4 practically pissed on the masterpiece that was MGS3 and it angers me to no end that someone who created such a masterpiece felt the need to tear it down as well. If I don't block MGS4 out of my mind, pretty much every character from MGS3 is completely ruined for me, except perhaps Ocelot. Thanks, Kojima. Really appreciate it.

Hmm! someone didn't play mgs3 - if they couldn't work out that Eva was Snakes mother >.

Yeah, I really hate MGS4 because for me, it's ruined MGS3. MGS3 which is, in my opinion, probably the best non-Nintendo game there is(I love Nintendo to death), and the most beautiful game of them all(Nintendo included). It's just so ... I can't describe it in words. But MGS4 sure put a stop to that :x

i started playing mg back in the nes, and i loved MGS4, if you don't like changes the you prob miss out on MGS3 which was very different but awesome, and by the way the fact that the answers are not what you wanted them be does not disappoints all the MGS fans.

You have a bit superiority complex.

To me MGS1 is still the best one in the series story wise (MGS3 is close though) : the bosses were all so cool (Psycho Mantis is unbeatable in the coolness category), the story progressed nicely with great plot twists. Even characters you only talk to by codec are interesting (Naomi's backstory is awesome, also she had a slight english accent that I loved but that somehow didn't carry over to MSG4)

MGS4 was also great but the characters were less engaging. I couldn't care less about the story of the B&Bs because I had already killed them when I learned about it.

Also, about Drebin's monkey: the first I encountered Drebin my thoughts during the whole cutscene were "Once this cutscene is over, I'm unloading all my ammo on this stupid monkey" Unfortunately, they don't ever give you the chance to shoot it.
