You can get the update by plugging in a memory card/HDD from a console that already has it. So if you got into the public preview and took your mem card to a mates place, then their console would automatically get the update. I think the fact that you CAN get it by accident will stop MS from perma banning colsoles.

Actually, one of the guys on this forum who got into the public preview said something about that being in the NDA. They make it quite clear that you can give it to people in this way, but you should definitely not do it.
