Ok, so I'm playing the new Castlevania and thinking to myself, how come there are 3 of these games on the DS and no 2D Metroid game? We got a 3D Metroid, but the single player in that game blows. I'd hate for Fusion to be the last in the series timeline, it's not that great of a game, and zero mission was better but really short. Come on Nintendo, we need Metroid 5, either on the DS or even as a wiiware title.

I approve of this thread. Unfortunately I don't see it happening soon,no matter how much I want it to.

They are on NES, SNES and GBA.

Man, I'd love a Metroid game on the Wii that plays like Wario Land:Shake it! and if not on the Wii then at least the DS.

I understand your sentiments completely. Super Metroid is one the best games i've ever played, and it blows my mind that this gen, we havent had a 2-d Metroid yet(on the DS , of course). Lets hope this is corrected in the future( on the DSi)

@arsenal Play some of the older ones? If that is the case then developers shouldn't make sequels to series that are big anymore, and should just say "play some of the older ones".

I'm a huge Metroid fan and I too thought Hunters was a letdown. I'd do just about anything for another 2D Metroid game.
