USE A PLIER TO LOOSEN (by twisting) THE HARDDRIVE HOLDER'S SCREWS BEFORE USING A SCREWDRIVER, THEN UNSCREW IT ONLY IF THE SCREWDRIVER FITS PERFECTLY AND DO IT VERY CAREFULLY.

You can use an external FAT32 formatted hard drive to copy all the game data, games saves, and PSN games off your PS3 hard drive. Just connect the drive and run the backup utility. You can find a 60 GBexternal drives for around $70 USD.

I was thinking of doing this too, but I think 60GB is pretty excessive.

How much, roughly, would a 20GB external hard drive cost? How much time does it take to copy everything onto it?

Even PSN downloaded games? Whats stopping a person from downloading saved PSN games to an external hard drive and putting them on other peoples PS3?

I believe it is limited to five activations, but I'm not sure how they enforce it.
