Forums - Nintendo - Reggie not keen on Disaster; says the audio is laughable not a joke...

Can anyone who actually listened to the podcaast confirm this is true?

That's an old podcast, and yes, I remember that. Still don't know if those were the exact same words Reggie said, or Matt's interpretation. Anyway, I think they are probably waiting for the elections to end in the USA before releasing it there, but who knows.

Disaster isn't worth $50 but Wii Music is?

Good question.

Disaster and Wii Music, like all new console games, are both worth full price. Failing to fit a particular fanboy's excessively-narrow tastes is not a valid determinant of worth.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

It's almost like he wants it to sell bad if he talk down on it. Usually people say positive things upon a games release to make people want it.

Why reggie?Why?

Disaster's dialog perhaps is cheezy, but it's not way worse than the resident evil series in that aspect. In fact, i find Raymond bryce a much more sympathetic character than say, Billy Coen or Chris Rendfield. Perhaps Reggie is feared of a lawsuit from movie studios based on the game's ending? (Not going to spoil it).

I feel sorry for reggie and the guys at IGN. Reggie makes a comment in a bar having some drink with a couple of IGN guys, they have a blurb about it in a podcast and now the news headline is "reggie says disaster sucks!". That's not going to be good for him or the IGN guys professionally. If the internet cares, don't open your mouth and speak honestly, stick to scripts. That is a sad modern reality.

Reggie is extremely stupid. He's doing a stupid decision with that. He'll encourage people to get the homebrew channel.

Hardcore Nintendo fans have been furious since the underwhelming E3 and he kept saying that an hardcore game was coming for Christmas (Animal Crossing). Now, there's really such a game and he refuses to publish it...

That's the problem with NoA... They never listen to their fans. Nintendo fans are those that saved the company during the Gamecube days. Still, we haven't got Mother 3 or Disaster. People are now obliged to use an emulator to play mother 3. We're forced to pirate their game in order to play them... It doesn't make sense.

It's not just Nintendo.  If you realized the sheer number of amazing games that have come out over the years that never left Japan, you'd probably cry.  At least Mother 3 is coming in one form even if it is fanslation...

Here are a few games that you'll never play as it is:

Well, to be honest the games that are made in Japan would not sell well (at all) in the West. Those videos you posted looked like very typical animes... Which is depressing, let me tell you. :P

The BuShA owns all!

There appears to be a mix of opinions on the reviews of this game.
The IGN review does not read like the score.
If it sells in Europe, it will be here.
If it does not, it won't.
