Forums - Gaming - Boku: Microsoft's answer to Little Big Planet?

This is for little kids to understand basic programming concepts. I doubt it will be general enough for very complex creation. One of the creators said that he would have liked to not have any text in it at all so that 5 year olds could play(he said half of 5 year olds cannot read). M$ is looking to grab developers earlier and earlier. Next thing they will do is make music for children in the womb.

Wow, wtf, MS think of your own stuff for once please.

*sigh*

I really hate it when MS does this, bums me out. Then again, it was deemed to happen sometime soon.

Edit: I'm glad it's not a straight rip-off though, that would really upset me.  Atleast this is different in it's own sorta way.

LBP is an XNA implementation copy which is a C# implementation which is a C++ derivative which is a C+ advancement which is a C advancement.  In summation, this goes back to end user self made content which has been around since the creation of stone cutting tools.

Everyone copies each other.

Sony copies video store from MS
Microsoft copies HDMI from Sony
Wii copies.....

Look I can think of at least 10 thing each company has "stolen" from one another.

Aaarggghhh...

There's nothing being copied.  Two... completely... different... products... serving... two... completely... different... functions...

Ahh, forget it.  What's the point?

This looks vastly different then LittleBigPlanet, at least from the screens. FYI, some the first home game creator softwares were on the PC, not PS3.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Ever heard of Smalltalk?

Yep, it helped popularize the object oriented paradigm and was originally concieved for educational purposes.  But it wasn't made for 5 year olds.
