Forums - Sales - Rock Band to Cost $200?

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/807/807396p1.html

I know a lot of people like Guitar Hero, and are looking forward to some of the multiplayer features of rock band.  but I have to be honest when I say that I am not sure people are going to be willing to spend $200 when they have already paid for their GH guitar.

I have limited experience with this series, so perhaps someone with a bit more knowledge could fill me in on how they are going to sell this thing?

200 is for the whole shabang ... game, guitar, microphone, drum set.

The game will also retail by itself for 60 bucks, I believe, and they will sell the other peripherals separately, as well.

Yes, they said the drums were $80, and strangely, the wireless guitar for the 360 was $80 while the PS3 version was $60. $80 is an awful lot to pay for a game controller, especially when GH2 cost $80 including both the game and the guitar.

Guitar Hero is ok when your Tripping...

Rock band is going to be ok when your Drunk

But 200 Bucks...Nah not worth it

Yeah, I think this game is going to flop. Thats 50$ less then a Wii. This is going to bit red octang.

I see this as being a massive success on the 360, and maybe to a lesser extent the PS3. People should realize that 200 is for game, guitar, bass, drums and mic, so there's no reason that it shouldn't sell at least as much as Guitar Hero.
