Actually sony had a motion controller patent before the wii !..
In either case it looks awful lol :p i think it's fake. But atleast we know that if they do decide to do this. Atleast it'll be good. When sony does something they do it well.

tabsina said: guys.. patents are made all the time.. while this is an official sony patent, it by no means should allude you to the idea that it is the next controller... i mean.. (i can't find the links now, but) have you guys even seen the controller design for the wii before it was made? or the boomerang that sony even made a physical version of... Just saying, the patent is only there to serve as a "just in case", now they won't have any problems IF they decide to go the route of a breakaway controller |
Thank god, then there's still hope that either it gets cancelled or that sony would fire that designer and get it right.
@darth:I agree with you that a breakable controller is a very nice idea, it would be cool if you could break apart the ds3 and then use each part as a motion sensitive controller in each hand.Infact I was very excited when I saw the thread title but all my expectations were destroyed when I saw those designs, so hopefully sony would pick this up and do it right.

People want it to fail because it is from Sony. It looks great, much more interactive than the Wii controller.
ultimate_123 said: Wow that looks horrible. Leave all that to nintendo, Sony. Just concentrate on real games for gamers, please dont go to the casual side. |
I agree 100%, tsk tsk sony.

No it doesn't and it is probably more expensive than the Wii controller.
I would be ashamed of having that in my living room ... the neighbors would think I'm trying to assasinate somebody..
Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.
ugly as hell
why does one need a camera and ultra sound on a controller?
WTF LOL! wii rip off!
What's up with PS3 and Xbox copying the Wii all of a sudden? PS3 with this abomination of a motion control lmao! Gawd, i feel sorry for PS3 they are running out of ideas to try and make back all the money they've lost haha.
And The Xbox copying the Mii characters too, Makes me laugh how the big boys in bussiness have to copy stuff from such a tiny white box that's slapping them both in the face :)
But in all seriousness, Sony if you make this sh#@ .... Gah i got no words to express myself, haha XD
Saw this on Kotaku. I liked the Break apart Dualshock a bit more.... mainly because I would stilll have a dualshock...

Wake up, it is business .

Ignoring the utility possibilities, that is the most unfortunate-looking controller I've ever seen.
