A new game in VC or a 12 month old ported game in ES.
BTW: Go with VC it is the newer and better game.

 Well said, thats exactly what im gonna do.

A smart plan.

Get Valkryia, Eternal Sonata is a great game, but it's made upto to be somewhere near AAA just because it was the lone gem in a ground full of crappy JRPGS (metaphors I'm not good at).

It's a fantastic game, and I loved it on the 360, but when you play it, you get reminded of the bad taste in your mouth and eternal scarring of the earlier anime dubs when they became mainstream in america, awful/over the top voice acting.

But yeah, go with Dgc1808, get VC and wait for ES to reduce price (which shouldn't be too far away considering how well it sold on release...)

ES isn't that great, it's ok though but the bosses are pointlessly hard and level grinding to beat them is annoying when the next boss will force you to do the same.

eg. My highest hp guy is around 8000hp I fight a boss that if it hit's you with the first attack it will combo you for about 6 hits each doing 900- 1600 hp and he can do it twice in one go, if you block the first hit he will go for it again and again and again and again until his timer runs out. This boss moves so fast he can get two turns before your fastest character from time to time.

I've almost beaten ES and only played the demo of VC, but I would without a doubt say Valkyria first. Based on reviews and my limited personal experience I have no doubt in my mind that it is the better game.

VC first... (Going by reviews) then ES. I've played ES it's a great game but I think VC would be better.. In the end however ask yourself one important question... Do I like SRPG better or JRPG... in the end that may be the most important factor on which you buy first.

YEa from what I played of the Demo VC is the better game in some cases but that's just from a game play perspective.
