I guess my prediction for the Wii hitting 45m (approx) by Jan 1st '08 could be about right - with figures like that, 50% marketshare this year *could* be possible. 360 around 25m, PS3 around 20m?

For hardware yes, but unless there's over 55M software lieing around in shops, we're off like hell on software.

now why couldnt the spend that marketing budget on disaster? the only marketing ive seen is the videos on the nintendo channel (which rock btw) and that must cost hardly anything. even gamestores havnt heard of the game. ive seen loads of wii adverts here in the UK but theve all been for mario kart

So most DS handhelds are collecting dust then? since there are more games sold on Wii but we all "know" that Wii is collecting dust everywhere, atleast that's what some on this forum says anyway :D

So in the next 6 months, they will ship (27.5m - 10.1m) 17.4 million consoles.

Current production capacity is 2.4 million/month (14.4M for 6 months).  That means they have at least 3 millions Wiis stockpiled for the holidays.
