Forums - Microsoft - Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2: Will Microsoft buy them?

Yes, but it was not confirmed to have simultaneous releases to my knowledge.

Yeah, but it doesn't make sense to make a game for the 360 and then port it to the PS3.  It makes sense to make them both at the same time.  MS could buy themselves a timed exclusive but I just really doubt that.

No reason for BioShock 2 to go timed exclusive. BioShock didn't do good cause it's a year old game, not because no one wants to play the game.

Also for ME: Saints Row 2 is on PS3, but SR1 isn't.

So, who knows.

I should clarify:

The whole Bioshock 2 being timed for 360 would make more sense if BioShock 1 wasn't on the system. Now that they have the engine up and running on the system, there'd be no reason for a BioShock 2 delay.

A ME 2 timed exclusivity would make more sense though, to get the engine up and running, if it is even exclusive.

mass effect 2 coming out on ps3 has nothing to do with whether mass effect 1 came out on ps3.

And MGS2 came to the XBOX, but MGS1 didn't.

Tell me that Metal Gear Solid isn't a story driven game.

Which means squat DMJ. MS didn't have publishing rights to Saint Row nor did they have an exclusivity deal with its developer. That is setting side the fact that your ME1 data will transfer to ME2 or the more important fact that SR1 was planned for PS3 but was canned due to development difficulities.

ME 2 360 only
Biioschock Muilti ever though the sales suck horriably on the PS3 lol

both bioshock 2 and mss effect 2 should be multiplat, the recent bioshock ps3 shows that developers will not make as much money releasing a year later for that game. trailer in ps3 buioshock means for sure bio2 is multiplat, i dunno about mass2 they should make that multiplat also. i think booth will be multiplat, but its possible that microsoft will buy exclusivity for mass2 but will end up on ps3 later on i think bio and mass1q could have reahed a million sales on ps3 if it was multiplat, i doubt it very much that micro would pay for a million units lost revenue, i think its more of giving the publishers a huge csh injection for keeping it exclusive, a sort of quick mega money instead of waiting for more retail sales on the other platform.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

I wouldn't spend extra money on Bioshock 2 if I were MS.

Their own sales + the abysmal sales on the PS3 would mean that the majority of players already connect the game with the Xbox.

Why waste money on a franchise your console already "owns"?

only reason fpr them ps3e bio sales is because its come out a year later and here are to many other great games coming out, quit blowing smoke

The way I see it, Mass Effect is a key exclusive franchise for the 360 that Microsoft won't allow to slip away, similarly to how Microsoft has kept Gears under their banner despite it being third party.

I think Microsoft will definately keep Mass Effect, that game was a big success and it's one of the best WRPG's of this generation, something like KOTOR was last gen.

Bioshock i could se it going multiplat, yet MS proved that timed exclusivity hurt PS3 sales big time, so they coould repeat it.
