Forums - Sony - Sony sold 16.84 million PS3 units worldwide

Apparently I am not the only one getting tired of these threads that pop up everytime a shipped figure is given. It just reminds me of why I love having TheSource around on the forums.

i love how all the nintendo fanboys are jumping in saying that its shipped and not sold to consumers without any proof.
its quite possible that vgchartz were slightly off, or it coulde be the same for sony.

Maybe you should actually read the reports before foolishly opening your mouth.

i did read it, it doesnt make any sense in it being shipped and not sold to consumers, that would mean only 600k ps3's in the world that arent sold. and what are the chances of that?

Here's a tip, use the search function. This topic has been discussed to death.

DO RESEARCH, TAKE YOUR TIME.

no need for you to talk like that. all i have to say is that: some people disbelieve in the fact that it is completely possible for vgchartz to have made an error and undertrack ps3 sales by 600k or so. it could go either way because this article doesnt cleary state whether the numbers are shipped or if they are sold to consumers

Oy, I give up. Live in you ignorance, embrace it.

it's not like the information is arranged in a logical manner guys. This may only be anecdotal but i look at these numbers all the time here, and have looked stuff up here before.
It is just that the wording is slightly off. the vgcmethodology says it tracks sold by some algorithym and sony says it tracks sold (though they don't like we do). it's just confusing. no need to flip out.

I also enjoy when people present factual information to clear up a misunderstanding. The "nintendo fanboys" as you say are just pointing out well known information. Sony almost certainly isn't off as it would end extremely badly for them if they were to report incorrect information. I suggest you do a bit of reading up on this site, or others so that you can hope to learn enough to comment on this discussion in a productive manner.

discussion in a productive manner, considering how fishyjoe and thesource have talked to me......

Does intentonally ignoring all responses and just posting the same ignorant crap count as trolling? I have asked this before, but I feel it needs to be asked again in light of this newest poster. Read the fucking thread and you will know why you are wrong. Not one person here is saying VGChartz is 100% accurate. Everyone here is explaining to people like you what these figures actually mean inspite of the fact that you are refusing to be informed by those that actually know what the fuck is going on.

That more accurately describes the situation. Figured I would try to clarify why you are getting the responses you are. People never really enjoy repeating themselves a thousand times because one person refuses to listen to someone who knows more.

the point is some people don't analyse the information they get at all...

1 different time of checking information
2 different way of tracking
3 VGC isn't 100% accurate but they don't claim that
