Unless it was the biggest maps, and then normally those lasted 10-25. All the way up the tech tree, doing rushes of the biggest units in the game. That's what SC was about. 20 minutes in the game. WarCraft3 followed suit, in terms of game pace. And damn near every RTS since SC has been like that. The only games that havent, have been the TA expansions. Wich dropped off shortly after they started. Today we have Supreme Commander. Games on that last hours. Like old WC2 games did. Blizzard has announced they are 100% WoW. There will be no SC2. EDIT: Watch FlagShip Studios. If they make a RTS. It will most likely be similar to SC.
The funny thing about SC is that single player made the game for me. It was one of the first RTS's I played that I actually enjoyed playing by myself. The story and surprises were great. The characters made me care and the personality and voices of the units were unique and made me care even more when I went into battle with them. I personally didn't feel the same level of connection with any other RTS. Including warcraft.

The Single Player was good. I judge a game on what it is. Not what it can be made. WarCraft3 could have the EXACT same balance as Starcraft if you put enough time in it. Infact, I'm sure you could mod the new C&C3, to even have the same art as StarCraft... in full 3D... and have the same balance. A game is what it is. Not what you mod it to be. Go find Supreme Commander demo. That is the RTS to beat.

Have it, don't like it. it is, how do i say it... takes too much time. I prefer make army quickly then mass battle.

Starcraft was great. Never got into Warcraft 3 (and don't play WOW). Wonder if someone is going to bring out any RTS's for the Wii... multiplayer Starcraft Wii would be cool :)

I've said it before in this thread. I'll say it agian. Blizzard has 0 projects besides WoW. And blizzard has 0 plans for any future projects besides WoW.

You are just plain wrong about that... they do not have any ANNOUNCED games, but they have said that they are working on several other games, both new IPs and old ones.
