Miyamoto is probably past the point of caring about money.

Why does he work then? To see the smiles on the childrens faces? :P

Reportedly Miyamoto actually refuses to be paid more than an average wage. Very humble man.

As for why he works, probably because he loves his job. Afterall, it is a pretty sweet job.

@Nightstriker. He doesn't actually have a love for gaming, just a passion (and a hell of a talent) for making games.

Should he retire (hopefully never), he will likely get a hell of a bonus, with Nintendo not taking "no" for an answer.

That's what I would do.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

@Kingofwale: yes, because we all know that what you like=what everybody likes. Read Sky Render's review and come back, k?

Somehow Sky Render's review is better than Matt's?

We all heard about developers bitching and whinning about review scores, from LAIR to Kane and Lynch to... heck, the developer of "Kidz, Sports" series made the exact same argument... that "core gamer" reviewer doesn't know how to review 'casual games'.

Frankly, I'm sick of that argument.

Did you read the article? First of all, he isn't "bitching" or "whining" about anything. The interviewer asked what he thinks about Matt's interview, and his response was: I don’t think it was a case of: because they like games, they don’t like “Wii Music.” That person simply didn’t like what we presented in “Wii Music.”

IGN isn't representative of all core gamers. If they were, Zack & Wiki, Okami, and others would have sold a whole lot more. Now, of course it may be true that most core gamers don't like Wii Music. However, Miyamoto just says "I don't think it was [the case]."

Besides, what do you want him to say? "Matt is right, Wii Music is a piece of trash, I should've never let such a game be released..."

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Miyamoto has made like over 100 great/good games. He has been really successful in his game development career. Wii Music gets mixed reviews.

Okay, can Miyamoto actually believe in his heart that Wii music is a good game? Seriously now.

I mean, I know developers don't talk about their failed games, but in their heart, they know if their own game is not deserving a good score.

I can do list of games that Mr Miyamoto has made or had hand in making and it would be like a list of the greatest games ever made. He has earned a free pass for life to do what ever he wants. If he didnt make Zelda, SMB, where would we be now?

Game reviewers, or paid game reviews have, as we all know totaly lost the plot. They have very narrow view and often are just writing paid advertising for what ever game publisher is sponsoring their site that week.
