I agree that the site is attracting more trolls than it used to. I think the less trolled forum is the Microsoft forum. Usually people stay out the topics that don't concern some lost exclusive.



How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

I don't think the OP has spent enough time at GAF or Kotaku and is probably a little spoiled.

That being said, I'm pretty much always in favour of more aggressive modding. Things might be sliding a little, but I'm sure that if things were actually getting out of hand, the thumbscrews would tighten and the waterboarding parties would begin.

I wouldn't like VGC to turn into Kotaku, but the truth is it's already happening. At least there's no Wii thread in which most of the usual haters step in and derail it completely. And they go unnoticed by mods most of the time.

Why can't this site be a bit more civilized? I know it's fun to have some arguements and system war related topics, but when every single post is trolling, then the site is not interesting anymore. Maybe it's just this gen, but the trolling here is higher than on any site I've visited in a long time.

 

Kind of ironic seeing as how you've been banned 6 times.

I've been coming to this site regularly since early 2007, i just don't post much, and i have to agree it's a less enjoyable place to visit these days. Too many trolls scaring away the good posters.

I agree there is more trolling but the Wii is on top and everything/one who is at the top seems to get all the hate/fire. They are up there to be shot at. I suppose a lot of this is to do with jealousy. Pure and simple. Maybe there's more trolling due to there being new members disproportionate to before. Maybe the new influx is more HD orientated. Perhaps they were posters on these other sies you mentioned. The less 'civilised' ones.
