but the ps2 had all the third party quality titles.
wii will probably not have a RPG selling like FFX did, or a FPS selling like halo sold in the xbox.

Any console RPG not named Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy ever managed 3 million sales. The only console FPS franchises that have done over 4mil are Goldeneye, Halo, and Call of Duty.
Besides, why do you bring Halo up? The PS2 didn't have that either. The Wii has the best selling Sports, Fighter, Racer, Adventure, Platformer, and Party games so far. It's also under 2 years old. Who knows what it'll bring us in the next few years.

all those games dragon quest kh and ff were on the ps2... same as GTA, even with tons of shovelware the good games were in... the wii on the other way.... nope. only nintendo core which is lacking lately.
halo on the xbox, and now the 360 its getting the third party.
the thing is third party and not wii it main games.
call of duty is but if we compare sales even at double the market the ps3 it sell less.
I dont think theres too much to discuss about the Wii at this point .
1)Its sells massive numbers .
2)Has the worst library of the generation by far and I would say it has a far worse library that the Cube by this time in its lifecycle .
3)The controls dont deliver what they promised and its 95% waggle that doesnt add anything to the gameplay. In fact ,its more annoying that anything .
4)Its online is the worst b far .
5)Multimedia features are a no-go.
6)Its original offerings through the store are very poor compared to the Live and PSN ones.
7)The promise of graphics on par with the HD machines but in SD has been absolutely demolished .All this talk about Nintendo techologies to do the same as other machines with 1/3 the polygon count and less resolution have been blown out of the water. The Wii is hardware wise a very poor machine .
So ,the best sales and the worst machine ......we cant argue too much more about this.
Wii is a failure? Ok then what the hell is a 360 or PS3?
Wii is a success and just because you dont like it, it doesnt mean it is a failure. Hell most people think that gaming itself is childish but does that make it true?

Maybe I need to join the Mario Kart League) (Fact) Pretty much, but next year I'll have a sub $200 Blu Ray player next to it. Opinion One of the most celebrated libraries in gaming made available through Virtual Console and a chance for Developers to do something different on Wiiware. I doubt many really expect what you are saying, I do want more of an effort, but I say give the PS3 and 360 credit for doing what they do best so well. The Wii is no more a poorer machine though than my laptop is from my desktop. Both have different things they excel at even though both are for the same general purpose. Opinion ......we cant argue too much more about this. I agree. Just come to understand that your tastes are not the only important tastes and we can get along. |
Edited for clarity.

Actually, if you look at the PS2's line-up it (really) wasn't anything special until it approached its second birthday and that was a system everyone expected to sell well from the start. Most people forget how poor the first year for the PS2 was, and how long the PS2 was delayed before it launched in North America and Europe.
Hes basically saying Wii is a step sideways, which is what I already thought. Makes sense too; Nintendo knew they couldn't compete with Sony and Microsoft, so they essentially sidestepped them.

See i'd disagree. I have about 2-3 times the number of Wii games then I did PS2 games at this time... and I have like 60+ PS2 games. I'd have even more... but I bought a PS3 for Valrkia Chronicles and also picked up PC gaming.

LOL if you end up with 120-180 Wii games we can really consider you a martyr of gaming !!
