I wonder if there are too many games, given the current economic situation.

For a lot of people, it will be OR, where in past years, it might have been AND.
I think the bigger titles should do OK. But if you have a new IP or a mid-level, mid-market target, you could be in for hard times. It already seems to be happening.

My advise to people would be buy the obscure/unusual titles now, then get the blockbusters that will be in big supply later.

I can afford to buy a game a week so issue isn't even the money for me.
Issue is that there are like a dozen games coming out I want to either buy or rent and I know most of them will take me a week or so to complete, some more...

I'm already delaying my purchase of LBP and Motorstorm 2 due to still playing Bioshock and I haven't gotten on DeadSpace/Fallout 3/Far Cry 2 yet either (whenever gamefly decides to ship it to me...)
