It looks just like a normal Christmas boost to me looking at the limited numbers the site has for PS2.

Even regardless the PSP's sales are way better then PS3's in two out of three regions.... and this was back when the PSP was considered a huge failure.

With PS3 a re-design could be different as it could be implemented along with a HUGE price cut...hence making the PS3 look affordable + giving it a new image for a new market

Seriously, what you say can't be proven, and really doesn't seem to be supported by the data since there really wasn't that huge of a surge when released.

Successful consoles just last a long time.

The PS1 lasted like 11 years... the NES like 15...

PS3 has snowball's chance in hell of outselling PSP.

Depends how long will the PSP stay on the market, in my opinion with recent firmware updates and the new 3000 version it should stay for another few years (it is a quality product), and if Sony still supports it enough. I think PSP could outsell the PS3

PS3 is on a 10 year plan and is expected to see lifetime sales of around 150 million. I don''t see PSP having any chance in hell of reaching those figures with the DS being around. So PS3>>>>> PSP
