I already know about the server issues. Since I come from the pc gaming world, I have no problems with some server problems. All good games get them at first.

How's the rest of the game? Some bugs and all, but hows the core gameplay... I have about 70 dollar left in my US PSN account and I am really thinking about spending some of it on Socom. Let's hear some impresions from the people whom actually played it.

I put a good 20 hours or so into it but because of all the new increadible titles coming out now and the R2 beta, I've stopped for now. If you plan on getting R2 in a couple of weeks then it might not be worth it because that game is addicting as hell! But as for Confrontation, if you are a Socom fan then it's an obvious must buy. It's basically Socom 2 with better graphics and some new game modes. They have a game mode called breach where the Commandoes have to breach through barriers with C4 in order to get to an area and plant a bomb meanwhile the mercenaries have good shooting positions on you while your stuck in the small areas waiting to breach. In short, the mode is great fun and suspenseful and requires great teamwork and tactics. It has a decent number of guns with a good number of attatchments including laser sights, red dot scopes, sniper scopes, reflex scopes, missle launchers, grips, silencers etc. From what I could tell most of the guns were balanced and good at different things and the attatchments worked really well for augmenting your guns to do different things. In short, I enjoyed it very much and if you get in a room that works together, exspecially on breach, it's a lot of fun. Personally, I enjoyed this multiplayer more than GRAW2's.

i played the game, the reason why it scored so low is because of the servers otherwise it would've scored 8.5 or something of that area. The game other than that is brilliant good graphics colors and light effects. Sniping is real and the guns are heavily customizable. off the psn store for $40 is a steal, i say u get it no question about it.
if u have HDTV it's like 10 times better

The server problems aren't bad anymore. The gameplay is pretty fun and addicting (this is my first SOCOM online btw). It really encourages you to work as a team in most game modes. The customization is pretty good. You can customize your player's look and weapons. I think you unlock more weapons if you join a clan or something. The maps are great. They're pretty big and well designed. There are no maps that I dislike, except maybe when they're at night. The controls take a while to get used to.

socom i cnt wait for, it will be a brill game to have over th xmas period

i fucking hate fanboy reviews, one even mentioned that it has no singleplayer

there are so minor bugs, but nothing that can't be ironed out.

It's actually very smooth. I didn't run into any bugs at all, and the servers are actually working now. I would DEFINATELY buy it if you are a Socom fan. I f you're just a regular gamer it wouldn't hurt to pass this game up tho.
