How are the graphics ?! better than metal gear? better than uncharted of COD 4?

ok ill try it out... i thought it had suberb graphics and the story looked cool to me., does it look as good as cod4?

@Mrmarc: Get told what to do. that is only like in the first hours I think the first two missions after it you can choose what to do :). And so far I don't see many who are dissapointed in the game aswell.

The most Far Cry 2 reviews warn you about the repetetive part of the game though not like Assasin's Creed where everyone stated it was fun for 10 of hours.

Must be a big difference between consoles to PC then, the PC version looks much better than CoD4 or Uncharted.  It beats out MGS4 as well, but not quite as handily. I think KZ2 and Resistance 2 will both edge out even the PC version though from what I've seen, so it's not supreme or anything.

Is there a demo on PSN I could check out?  I'm curious how big the difference is or if this is just a subjective difference of opinion, and I haven't logged on to look at demos in a while =P

Well I don't know if the details are worse than some other console game but it looks like the game is dropped in a pile of shit (all that brown) I prefered that green from Far Cry 1.

Quite disappointing really, after having had my fill of exploring and fighting monsters in oblivion, doing this in Far Cry feels stale and pointless, the general feel is you have these missions and everything in between is nothing but a hassle, and then you realize it's all a hassle. It's great a game and a great effort don't get me wrong but the pacing is shot to hell, and there is no real story, it very quickly becomes predictable, and you get a good sense of pretty much everything the game has to offer pretty early on.


Thus I prefer the original far cry, which although was far more linear was a more engaging and consistent experience, a thrill ride, this game feels like you're running errands, and you never feel like in you're in the thick of it, everything feels like it's a sidetrack to the actual game that never really comes. It is thus nothing more than a map with missions on it, which never really tie together in any meaningful way and always feel repetitive and dull. Still a good game though and a must play.

Also pretty much nothing that you do changes anything, if you clear a camp, walk a hundred feet and come back everything respawns, none of the missions change the game world and most of your actions basically have no consequences in the long run so actualy figthing in anything but the main missions is completely pointless, except for the safe houses, but I never use those since I just quick save. But that's all nit picking, the rest of the game is pretty solid and the shooting is some of the best ever and very realistic.

I'm thinking about buying this game too ,but after many reviews.I decided to w8 for Fallout 3 instead.

Far Cry 2 just looks like another COD 4.

I think it is well documented that there is a substantial drop in quality from the pc version.  This game is meant to be played on the pc.  PS3 runs at a higher native resolution, but some reviewers prefer the look of the 360 version.
