This list is a mess.  Metroid Prime 2 rated higher than Metroid Prime 3?  I thought it was a the general consenus that Prime 3 is the best.  I don't think the original Halo should be rated higher than Half Life 2.  Also, why would the original Zelda be rated lower than Manjora's Mask, the oracle of seasons/time, and Wind Waker.  Bah!

Shows how much people know about good games, Halo should have barely made it on there.

On another note, I can't wait for MP1 with Wii controls!

First of all, Halo 1 came out 3 years before HL2. And for the time it is a better game...meaning impact halo 1 made > impact HL2 made. HL2 doesn't even have multiplayer but you have to go to team fortress or counterstrike for that.

Also, Metroid prime 1 was quite amazing, MP2 more of the same, MP3 more of the same with motion controls. Of course the original will be first on the list, followed by the sequel, followd by the last one.

Castlevania SOTN at 13...oh yeah, people know whats good.

Ah well, everyone knows those lists are not to be taken seriously.

Also, Prime 3 was better than 2. By far.

Halo is NOT a better game than HL2 even for its time. If you wanna go down that route, Half-Life 1 was better than Halo too and that came out in '98. The only impact Halo had was that it managed to get a FPS control scheme down on a controller (with a lot of sacrafices but still, redit where credit is due).

Also 3 was the best one. More of the same but better still means better.

@vlad321

Halo 3 was the most refined, but the campaign was pretty much a carbon copy of part 1. Even the last driving sequence was lifted... but you are right, it is the best on if we look at quality and not the timeframe it came out in.

As far as hl1 being better than Halo, I strongly disagree...but it is a matter of prefference i guess.

Up until halo, prety much all FPS games were coridor based...and half life 1 is no exception. Halo opened the maps up to larger scale battles, added computer controlled bots to your team...a radical new health system...multiple vehicles. I don't know man, I think Halo 1 did a lot more than apply the FPS control scheme to a controller.

I really don't even know where to begin with when it comes to listing what HL1 brought on the table for FPS games in general. Also smart team bots had been around since the days of UT, which also came out in '98. I'll give you the health (though the system is horrible for multiplayer, but credit where credit is due) and the vehicles, but that's about it as far as innovation goes.

As expected of a reader's poll, with some pretty screwed up rankings
Anyone willing to guess the top 5?

Eh ,theres a game called Operation Flash point on PC, released a few months before Halo. It had vehicles, Aircrafts etc which could be controlled
