Forums - Microsoft - Fable 2 is now officially the next MS Triple AAA game

so u guys are happy because it's AAA??? so when it was at 89.9 , u didn't consider this an AAA?????????????????????

fanboy wars are stupid

Fun, but stupid.

Especially when there is no operational definition for a "AAA" game. Generally speaking, I think AAA usually means a title that 1) has a high profile (check), 2) sells several million copies (likely check), and 3) gets strong reviews (again, check).

Most of us consider Mario Kart a AAA franchise, but unless I miss my guess, the last 2 games generally scored in the 80s, not 90s.

"LOL. WTF?!?!"

I'll try to make it simpler for you.

IGN widely considered to be the best video game website on the internet gave Uncharted a 91 and Fable II an 88.

And let me remind you that IGN gave three ratings to both those games:

Uncharted: 91 (US), 84 (UK) and 89 (AU) ~ Average = 88

Fable II: 88 (US), 95(UK) and 92 (AU) ~ Average = 91.7

(And on a completely different note, in light of the financial crisis doesn't everyone who uses the term AAA to define quality automatically sound really silly?)

Let's say between 1-10 million* people play Uncharted and Fable 2. Out of those, you have a sample size of 3. That puts the margin of error around 57%.

Therefore, the actual score for Uncharted is between 38-100%, and Fable 2 39-100%.

Yeah, this is an argument worth having.

*Doesn't matter which you choose in that range. The answer comes out about the same.

HAHAHAH IT'S 90 AGAIN ROFL

well im surprised after beating the side quests and finding newer areas the game just seems to get bigger and bigger and the quests just seem to appear and appear. I think this really is a well crafted package for what you pay.

Although it bugs me the amount of admirers that follow you around town and almost trapping you if you get into a corner.

It's actually at 89.5% which, according to what people call a AAA game, it's a AAA game.

I have no idea what has gone on earlier in the thread or if someone has already said this (I really don't care, came in for other reasons), but people generally call AAA games 9 or 90+ rated games.

Since it's not 9.0 or 90.0%, that means your round 89.4 to 89 and 89.5 to 90.  Fable 2 is then a AAA game according to that definition.

In the end though it really doesn't matter.

Down to 89 again. I guess it's officially not a AAA game, right? Right........

Fable 2 is a AAA game. But then again, so are games like Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Anyone who thinks games need a 90 on Metacritic to qualify as AAA is an idiot.

Gamerankings is still showing me 89.5% >_>
